"Worry Worry Lake" - Wen Jun

Same Paper / amateur

¥3,500 (Tax not included)

"Worry Worry Lake" is a zine released as part of a capsule collection by Shanghai creative studio Same Paper and Shanghai-based artist Wen Jun.

Wen Jun is an emerging photographer and the lead singer of the band Absolute Purity. After making her mark in Beijing's D-22 club scene, she moved to Shanghai and began creating watercolor paintings and photographs. Her work captures the subtle sensations and emotions of everyday life through a deeply personal lens.

As a photographer, she uses her camera like a magnifying glass, focusing on the textures of the everyday, patiently extracting fragments from the cracks and corners of the world. Her work is romantic, mysterious and somehow uncontrollable. In her own words, "I am just a soul drifting through space. I am here only to see."

There is no deliberate drama in her photographs, instead intimacy, chance and gentle chaos elevate ordinary moments into different expressions and moods.
"Worry Worry Lake" is a collection of photographs taken by Wen Jun over the past 10 years. Like the surface of a breathing body of water, Wen Jun herself quietly blends into the images. With almost no narration, she entrusts herself entirely to the images themselves—each photograph speaks eloquently, pointing to each of the "small encounters" in her life.
