"Target Practice" - Minh Ngoc Nguyen
Target Practice is a zine by visual artist/photographer Minh Ngoc Nguyen, based in Copenhagen, Denmark.
This work expresses the very possibility of "which photo to choose" by showing variations, outtakes, and repeated cuts of a single photo that becomes the "final form." By combining these with intermediate images that seem to have been taken during the production process, the structure highlights the process of how a photograph is selected and takes shape.
This work primarily features a series of works based on themes of anxiety, conflict, and recurring thoughts that arise in the process of exploring one's identity while living in Western society with Vietnamese roots.
The work combines nostalgic humor and playful motifs with clean, sophisticated visuals reminiscent of advertising photography. Through this exquisite balance of contrasting elements, it explores the artist's roots and relationship with their culture.

Minh Ngoc Nguyen
A visual artist/photographer based in Copenhagen, Denmark. He holds an MFA in Photography from HDK-Valand in Gothenburg, Sweden, and a BA in Visual Communication from the Danish School of Media and Journalism.
Leveraging her background as a commercial photographer, he primarily creates still-life photography. He incorporates pop culture imagery and stereotypes, developing a unique visual expression that combines humor and sophistication. By intersecting the everyday visual culture of Southeast Asia with contemporary image culture, his works showcase a pop aesthetic and multifaceted identities.
