ernest project: RISES

commune Press

¥1,500 (Tax not included)

Hiroshi Tanigawa, owner of the Hatagaya-based vintage clothing store "PALETOWN," uses his keen aesthetic eye to discover and collect items that strike a chord, primarily vintage folk art, through his "ernest project."
This work is a pictorial zine of the ernest project Show held at gallery commune in October 2025, and is the second installment following "ernest project: BEGINS," released in April 2023. It focuses on the items that were actually exhibited, as well as behind-the-scenes footage of the purchasing process.

The collection of masterpieces and rare objects is centered around the artist's travels to America, which he undertakes several times a year, and is collected through his own imaginative imagination, sometimes with excitement and sometimes with uncertainty. The beloved found objects, which he uncovers through intuition, touch, and a little knowledge, and are now set free, are a mystery to those who created them and for what purpose, and are traced back to the dates and messages inscribed on them.
