This is the commemorative Issue 01 of DRAIN, a newly launched art magazine composed entirely of visuals and edited by Ed Davis.
DRAIN is a biannual image-based publication edited and designed by Ed Davis. Each issue is conceived as a collectible object made to inspire, printed in limited runs and made to be experienced offline: tactile, focused, and free from the noise of the algorithm.
Curated as a series of visual essays, each edition showcases a global mix of artists, designers, and image-makers. DRAIN is a serial project for those who love and value print.
This work features Ed's typical selection of artists such as Nick Atkins and Weirdo Dave, who are currently designers for Supreme, as well as the late reggae legend Lee "Scratch" Perry, Jack Bool, who has just released a new photo book from Same Paper, and from Japan, Essential Store and Motoyuki Daifu, who are well known for their silent auctions. In addition, the album features a wide variety of cross-genre works, including the discography of London record label The Trilogy Tapes and footage from a show at the Women's History Museum.
It's a stimulating and intriguing book that feels like you're peering inside Ed's mind.
