"Hey, about this photo of you, I actually have a photo that I took with the exact same composition..." "Huh? Let's see... Wow! Amazing!"

American artist Daniel Everett participated in the art book festival "One Thousand Books" held in Copenhagen in 2016 with his photo book "Throughout the Universe in Perpetuity," which was then released by Études. When Swedish artist Mårten Lange saw the book, he noticed an interesting coincidence, which led to the beginning of this project.

*The second image is the work that inspired this project, the high-rise apartment building "City Tower Shinjuku Shintoshin." The work on the left is by Mårten, and the one on the right is by Daniel.

Since then, each of them traveled to Tokyo alone to take photographs. Through various discussions, such as "what is originality?", "how the camera controls the viewpoint?" and "how cities attract our attention," they uncovered further overlaps and points of contact in each other's work. The approximately 200 images included in this book clash with each other, resulting in an incredibly ambitious work that attempts to uncover the inner workings of the city.
