We are pleased to present "Student of Life," the first solo exhibition in Japan by Minneapolis-based artist Nick Dahlen. Nick's works, which focus on human figures, everyday scenes, and organic objects, use bold colors, strong shadows, and distortions, and are permeated with an aesthetic that is vague yet smooth and rhythmic.
Nick started his career with graffiti and street art, and says he has been greatly inspired by art such as Kandinsky and Picasso, architecture such as Le Corbusier and Andra Matin, and the world of jazz music such as Bill Evans and Chick Corea.
This exhibition, "Student of Life," will feature approximately 13 instantly recognizable works, each simple yet nuanced, evoking dreamlike scenes of everyday life. We look forward to your visit.
