Bumper stickers have become a commonplace part of the landscape in car-oriented America. They are also a tool for Americans to express their hobbies, preferences, religions, and political beliefs. They have also become the subject of psychological research, as evidenced by a 2008 paper by Colorado State University social psychologist William Szlemko, which found that "people who put bumper stickers on their cars are significantly more aggressive drivers, regardless of the message they convey."

B. Thom Stevenson was drawn to the spectacle of stickers carrying messages of up to three lines, speeding down the highway across time and place, and this led him to undertake the "American Landscapes" series. He also noted that the horizontal shape of bumper stickers offers a departure from his usual vertical creative cycle, and saw this as a new challenge.

In addition to works inspired by bumper stickers, this exhibition will feature approximately 50 pieces, including works from last year's art book "POSTER DRAWINGS."
In addition to the exhibited works, new collaboration items with commune will also be on sale at the venue. Please look forward to B. Thom Stevenson's first solo exhibition in Japan.
