We are pleased to present "Spring Tide," a solo exhibition by artist Jessica Hans, based in New Mexico, USA.
This exhibition showcases works that originated from her interest in the natural patterns and textures found in rocks and soil. In her expressions, which traverse functionality and sculpture, Hans emphasizes the presence of her works by intentionally leaving the roughness and raw state of the material itself on the surface of the vessels.
The works incorporate collected stones, shells, and minerals, which evoke a sensory and raw impression, as if they emerged directly from the earth. The vibrant glazes flowing across the dark, neutral bases recall the flow of lava and the slime molds that appear on rocky surfaces, visualizing the processes of natural generation and transformation.
These works awaken our senses at the intersection of material, time, and the forces of nature, presenting a new perspective on the material world.
