We are pleased to present "Hidden Place," an exhibition by Ema Gaspar, an artist from Lisbon, Portugal.
Drawing inspiration from intense and disturbing emotions, she creates stories in her colored pencil and graphite drawings.
Expressing her inner world through her work is also an essential act for her to overcome difficult moments and personal trauma.
Ema's world of work is filled with unique characters inspired by the fascinating shapes and ornaments she finds on the roadside or in her home. However, these characters are not a direct reflection of the strong shock she has experienced, but rather are created to be viewed from a different angle, and are not terrifying at all. They are colorful and rather appear gentle and calm.
By exploring my inner self through past experiences, I aim to create a positive "atmosphere of memory" in my work.
This is a theme she has been exploring for several years, and in addition to original works created specifically for this exhibition, she will also be showcasing visuals she provided for Mura Masa's "Demon Time," which was created with the same concept, as well as other project works.
In addition to the exhibited works, new merchandise will also be available for purchase at the venue. We look forward to seeing you there.
