onnacodomo + MATKA POP UP EVENT “VIEW OF SILENCE”

Venue: Gallery Commune

Onnacodomo and MATKA, who have previously held two collaborative exhibitions at our gallery, will be holding the event "VIEW OF SILENCE" over two days, January 21st (Sat) and January 22nd (Sun).

The original ceramic pieces, which feature MATKA's sculptures and onnacodomo's collages, are described as "artworks that blend into everyday life/poetic ceramics," expressing a world where incongruity and harmony coexist, and have been highly praised by a wide range of people. This time, the second line will feature the "incense holders," which were a favorite of the commune staff at the previous exhibition. Seven limited edition incense holders will be unveiled for the first time, imbued with the desire to expand all senses through use, including the unique texture of ceramics, the scent of incense, and the silence that spreads with the rising white smoke. Other artist-related items will also be on display at the venue. We look forward to seeing you there.

onnacodomo | Onnakodomo is a unit formed by graphic artist Ruka Noguchi and video artist Yasuko Seki. Their unique VJ performances involve creating collages of all sorts of objects, including water, toys, and printed materials, and projecting them in real time like a music video session. They have performed at venues such as FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL (with Buffalo Daughter) and the Coachella Festival (with Ryan Hemsworth). They have also produced numerous video and collage works. Their major direction projects include the music videos for Hiroshi Fujiwara's "TERRITORY," Non's "Nama Iki ni Skirt," and Hei Tanaka's "Imi wa Nai," as well as the jingle video for Amazon Prime's "Kikokikaku," and the promotional art for Suzuki Matsuo, Hitoshi Ohne, and Theatre Cocoon's "Machine Diary."
